Mapped Out

Privacy Policy

This policy covers the private publishing tools used to post Mapped Out's own videos to the Mapped Out YouTube channel, the Mapped Out Facebook Page and its linked Instagram account (together, the “Tool”). Back to home

In short

The Tool is used by one person — the owner of Mapped Out — to publish Mapped Out's own videos to Mapped Out's own YouTube channel, Facebook Page and Instagram account. It has no other users, collects nothing from anyone else, and sends no data to any third party.

What the Tool accesses

When the channel owner authorizes the Tool, Google issues it a credential for the single OAuth scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube. The Tool uses that access only to:

It does not read, reply to or modify other people's comments, and it does not access subscribers, playlists, any other channel's content, or any Google service other than YouTube.

Facebook and Instagram

With the owner's permission, the Tool uses Meta's official APIs to access only the Mapped Out Facebook Page and the Instagram account linked to it. It uses that access only to publish Mapped Out's own videos with their captions, and to read basic details of that Page and account (name, ID, posting limits) and the links to the posts it creates. It does not read messages, comments, followers' data or any other account's content.

What is stored, and where

Limited use

The Tool's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Data obtained through Google APIs is used solely to provide the uploading function described above, is not transferred to others, and is not used for advertising, profiling, or any form of analysis unrelated to publishing the owner's own videos.

Retention, removal and data deletion

Stored credentials are kept only while the Tool is in use, and are deleted by deleting those files. Access can be withdrawn at any time: for Google at myaccount.google.com/permissions; for Facebook and Instagram in Facebook Settings → Business integrations. Either immediately revokes the Tool's access. The Tool holds no data about anyone else, so there is nothing further to delete; see data deletion instructions.

Children

The Tool is not directed to children and is not usable by anyone other than the channel owner.
